Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating two suspicious house fires in Corio that occurred on Sunday, 9 June.
The first fire was reported at an unoccupied house on Quebec Avenue just after 9pm.
It is understood that the fire started inside the vacant house, and no one was inside at the time.
Shortly after, a second fire was reported at another vacant house on Hopkins Street around 11:36pm.
It is believed an unknown offender broke into the premises before setting it alight. Again, no one was inside at the time.
A crime scene was established for both incidents, and an arson chemist has already attended the scenes to assist with the investigation.
The investigation into these incidents remains ongoing.
