Emergency services were called to Autumn Street in Newtown just before 8 p.m. following reports of a car that had rolled onto its side, possibly with the driver trapped inside.

Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle had collided with a parked car before tipping onto its side.

Bystanders and firefighters quickly assisted in safely removing the driver from the vehicle.

Ambulance Victoria attended the scene and assessed the driver, who was the sole occupant.

He was treated for minor injuries and did not require hospitalisation.

Victoria Police were also on site to manage traffic, closing Autumn Street for just over an hour while the scene was cleared.
