At 12:36 am, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire on Wilsons Road in Whittington.

Emergency crews arrived within 7 minutes to find the residence engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, only one person was present during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

As a precaution, asbestos decontamination bags were required.

Ambulance Victoria was on-site to monitor the health and well-being of the firefighters involved.

Victoria Police and representatives from the Power and Gas company were also present at the scene.

The fire was brought under control by 1:23 am.

Later, at 5:51 am, FRV returned to extinguish a small spot fire.

Again, no injuries were reported.

The final declaration of the fire being under control was made at 6:03 am.

Members of FRV’s Fire Investigation Unit conducted a thorough examination of the scene and concluded that the fire is not considered suspicious.
