The Geelong community is grappling with grief following a fatal two-car accident on the Hamilton Highway in Stonehaven last night.
The Major Collision Investigation Unit is urging witnesses to step forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
Close friends of the family have joined hands to support the family affected by this tragic loss.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to aid Paul Rossiter, Danica Rossiter, and their young daughters Mia and Willow, who were involved in the devastating collision.
The fundraiser details the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the accident, stating that Paul and Danica sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at Geelong Hospital.
Paul has been transferred to The Alfred for further care.
Sadly, the young ones were not as fortunate—Willow, the youngest, is in critical condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital, while Mia, the eldest at 12, tragically lost her life at the scene.
She would have been 13 on the 25th of this month.
The GoFundMe page seeks financial assistance to cover Mia’s funeral expenses and general costs related to the family’s recovery.
The Rossiter family’s primary source of income, The Bush Inn in Lismore, is impacted as Paul and Danica navigate their injuries, making the situation even more challenging.
The heartfelt plea on the GoFundMe page reads, “Great friends of mine, Paul Rossiter, Danica Rossiter, along with young Mia and Willow, were traveling back home when they unfortunately got into a very serious collision.
All donations will be appreciated and will go to helping out some great friends who need all they can get in the most horrible time that anyone could imagine.”
