CFA and FRV responded to a house fire on Rutherford Grove in Armstrong Creek shortly after 7:30 pm last night.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a one-story house completely consumed by fire.
Paramedics attended to a man in his 30s for smoke inhalation, who was then transported to University Hospital Geelong in stable condition.
Another man of similar age was assessed at the scene but did not require emergency treatment or transportation.
The incident was brought under control at 8:19 pm and declared safe at 8:57 pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
CFA deployed seven units with support from FRV crews.
