Geelong Highway Patrol officers have charged a man in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident in Marshall last month.
The incident occurred on Barwarre Road around 6:15 p.m. on July 17, when a red Holden Commodore sedan allegedly collided with a silver Mazda hatch.
The driver of the Mazda, a 42-year-old woman from Armstrong Creek, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
The male driver of the Commodore reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Two passengers in the Commodore, a 34-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman from Grovedale, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a 23-year-old man from Whittington.
He has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and failing to assist in a serious injury collision.
He is scheduled to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.
