A man has been apprehended in connection with a stabbing incident in Hamlyn Heights last night.

Reports indicate that a physical altercation occurred between two men at a residence on Lantana Avenue just before 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23.

The altercation resulted in a 65-year-old man sustaining stab wounds, prompting his immediate transport to the hospital with serious injuries.

At the scene, authorities arrested a 60-year-old Hamlyn Heights resident, who, fortunately, did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

During the arrest, Police officers reportedly discovered 12 cannabis plants inside the property.

The Hamlyn Heights man is presently in custody, cooperating with police inquiries.

He is expected to make an appearance at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.

It has been suggested that both individuals involved in the incident are acquainted with each other.
