Police are investigating after a woman was found injured on a Norlane road early this morning.
A passing motorist discovered the woman lying in the middle of Waitara Grove around 2:30 am and alerted authorities.
The circumstances surrounding how she ended up on the road and the cause of her injuries remain unknown at this stage.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s and a local resident, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Police have established a crime scene, and the area has been cordoned off as investigations continue.
Detectives from the Geelong Crime Investigation Unit are set to examine the scene today.
