Three men have been arrested following an attempted home invasion and stabbing in Grovedale on January 3.

It’s alleged that the three offenders arrived at a property on Church Street around 11:30 p.m. and attempted to break into the premises.

The male occupant, aged 20, confronted the trio, leading to a physical altercation.

Police were informed that the victim was assaulted and one of the offenders sustained a stab wound.

The offenders fled on foot, but officers quickly responded and arrested all three at the corner of Hindle St and Church St in Grovedale.

A 25-year-old man from Ararat was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The two other offenders, a 20-year-old from Belmont and a 12-year-old from Geelong, are in custody and will be interviewed.
