Police are seeking the public’s assistance after a collision occurred in Norlane on June 15th.

Police allege a motorcycle displaying fraudulent license plates was sighted riding on the footpath of Foster Street around 3:50 p.m.

Police activated their lights to intercept the motorcycle, which continued on evading officers.

The motorcyclist collided with a blue Mitsubishi Outlander station wagon at the intersection of Yooringa Avenue and Bingara Avenue.

CCTV footage obtained by Geelong TV shows the disturbing incident unfold at high speed, with police in pursuit just seconds behind the motorcyclist.

A 52 year old motorcyclist, Jason Dawes, was seriously injured during the collision.

He was flown to the Alfred Hospital and is currently intubated in ICU.

The injured male has suffered substantial internal injuries, fractures to his legs, and a broken arm.

His condition is currently serious but stable.

The driver of the car, a 34-year-old Norlane man, and his passenger, a 21-year-old Norlane woman who provided aid to the injured man, remained at the scene and were unharmed.

Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, which is being overseen by the Professional Standards Command.

Geelong TV understands there was several witnesses to the pursuit and subsequent events, with varying accounts.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, observed the motorcycle prior to the incident, or possesses dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward.
